Chicago!

Dale and I took a much needed get away a few weeks ago. We spent the weekend in Chicago which is about at 2 1/2 hour drive from Peoria. We had such a great time! We rented beach cruiser bikes and rode up and down Lake Shore Ave.....I sort of felt like I was in Mexico! Beaches and tons of people all along the shore....who would have thought! We went on a dinner cruise, did some shopping, went to the Gospel Fest and just had a blast having fun together (it had been way too long :)). So, maybe trading the mountains for a really fun city isn't so bad afterall :).

Gabe hardly knew we were gone, what kid wouldn't want to stay at Grandpa and Grandpa's and ride 4-wheelers, ride in a Bobcat, play in the dirt, swim and go boating!

Clarifying

I just wanted to clarify (cuz credit is due where credit is due) that we didn't do all the work on our house physically. Some of the comments alluded to us doing all the work. We had one of Dale's rehab crews do 90% of the work. First off we are not skilled enough for a total remodel and second, we'd probably kill each other in the process :), and third, it would take us 3 years to finish if we tried to add it to our other three businesses :)! But Dale did do some of it (floors, tile, fireplaces, landscaping, etc) and we did pick everything out, and we did have to scramble to do lots of finishing touches for the Grand Tour....but all in all, we moved into a mostly remodeled house in August. The rest will most likely be done by us though....we'll see how the summer goes :).
